Update Information for June 30, 2011 (V 2.18)

A news article about an ECD patient and her husband, working to help raise awareness and research funds, was added to the “Patient-to-Patient” page.  Informaton about a fundraiser this couple hosted was added to the “How Can I Help?” page.

A new link was added to the list of previously published articles, accessible without charge on the internet, as found on the “Technical Papers | Published Papers” page.  It is:

New entries were made to the “Abstracts of Published Papers” as listed under the “Technical Papers” selection for recently published papers. The additions are as follows:

1. An article published in the journal, Dimensions in Critical Care Nursing.  The article is entitled, “Erdheim-chester disease: a case study and literature review ” and includes an abstract.
2. An article published in the journal, Thorac Cardiovasc Surg.  The article is entitled, “Erdheim-Chester Disease in a Female Cardiac Surgery Patient” and includes an abstract.
3. An article published in Chinese in the journal, Zhonghua Er Ke Za Zhi .  The article is entitled, “Erdheim-Chester disease in a child: case report” and does not include an abstract.
4. An article published in the journal, Respiratory Medicine CME.  The article is entitled, “Pulmonary Erdheim-Chester disease: A response to predonisolone ” and includes an abstract.

The Case Locations as found on the “Patient-to-Patient” page, was updated.

The “Home“, “Resources“, and “Links” pages were modified to consolidate all links to other patient organizations onto the “Resources” page.  Two new  links to other histiocytic organizations were added – Euro-Histio-Net and HistioCure Foundation.

Links on the “ECD Global Alliance” page were updated.

The “Physicians” page was updated to correct and update some contact information.

The “Links” page was modified to fix some broken links and to add a link for a stairlift company in the UK.

Chat summaries were added to the “Chat Room” page.

Wording clarification changes were made to the “ECD Studies” page.
