The latest ECD Newsletter, Issue 4, September 2009 was added to the News/Update page.

An ophthalmologist  from Germany was added to the “Physicians” page.

An update was made to the “Patient-to-Patient | Case Locations” page to show the addition of new cases that have registered with the organization.

An update was made to the “ECD Global Alliance” page to show the organization now represents 57 ECD cases representing 7 countries.

A new entry was made to the “Abstracts of Published Papers” as listed under the “Technical Papers” selection for recently published papers.  The addition is as follows:

  1. A paper published on Sept. 14, 2009 in the Journal of Pediatric Hematology and Oncology.  The article is entitled, “Erdheim-Chester Disease in Childhood: A Challenging Diagnosis and Treatment” and includes an abstract.
  2. A paper published in German on Sept. 25, 2009 in the Ophthalmologe Journal.  The article is entitled, “Erdheim-Chester disease of the orbit with compressive optic neuropathy” and includes an abstract.
  3. A paper published in Sept. 2009 in the American Journal of Roentgenol.  The article is entitled, “AJR teaching file: A rare multisystem disease with distinctive radiologic-pathologic findings” and is without an abstract.
  4. A paper published on September 29, 2009 in the Arthritis & Rheumatism Journal.  The article is entitled, “(18)F-fluorodeoxyglucose-positron emission tomography scanning is more useful in followup than in the initial assessment of patients with Erdheim-Chester disease” and includes an abstract.
  5. A paper published on October 12, 2009 in the European Heart Journal.  The article is entitled, “Cardiac magnetic resonance characterization of atrial pseudo-mass in Erdheim-Chester disease” and is without an abstract.
