Update Information for November 30, 2010 (V 2.11)

Updates were made to the treatments section on the “What is ECD?” page.  Specifically, references were provided to recently published papers describing case study treatments of anakinra (Kineret) and imatinib (Gleevec) for ECD patients.

The Case Log and Case Locations, as found on the “Patient-to-Patient” page, were updated.

The “How Can I Help?” page was updated with information about ECD Global Alliance furndraisers that are taking place.

Entries were made to the “Abstracts of Published Papers” as listed under the “Technical Papers” selection for recently published papers. The additions are as follows:
1.  An article published in the Clin Rheumatol.  The article is entitled, “Erdheim-Chester disease” and includes an abstract.
2.  An article published in the J Neuroradiol .  The article is entitled, “Central nervous system involvement in systemic diseases: Spectrum of MRI findings and includes an abstract. [Article is in French] 3.  An article published in Tumori .  The article is entitled, “Polyostotic sclerosing histiocytosis (Erdheim-Chester disease) treated with combined vertebroplasty and radiation therapy” and includes an abstract.
4.  An article published in Respiratory Medicine CME.  The article is entitled, “Pulmonary Erdheim-Chester disease: A response to predonisolone” and includes an abstract.
5.  An article published in J Neurol Neurosurg Psychiatry .  The article is entitled, “CP3 Progressive ataxia with unusual radiographic findings” and includes an abstract.
6.  An article published in Journal of Clinical Oncology.  The article is entitled, “Response of Histiocytoses to Imatinib Mesylate: Fire to Ashes” and does not include an abstract.  However, a copy of the article has been made available to the ECD Global Alliance if you are unable to access it through normal channels.

Chat summaries were added to the “Chat Room” page.

Minor updates were made to the ECD Global Alliance page to better reflect the purpose of the organization.

Broken ‘Home’ and ‘Back” links were fixed on all the Web Update pages as selected from the ‘What’s New?‘ page..
