An update was made to the ‘Caregiver Information’ page to provide more information aimed at helping caregivers cope with the demands placed upon them.  A link was provided to Caregivers Coping with Chronic Illness from the National Dysautonomia Research Foundation.  Another link was provided to the Lotsa Helping Hands website that provides a tool for family, friends, neighbors, and colleagues to organize activities during times of need.  Finally, a link was also provided to a spousal caregivers blog.

New chat summaries were added to the “Chat Room” page.

An update was made to the ‘Case Locations’ file.

New entries were made to the “Abstracts of Published Papers” as listed under the “Technical Papers” selection for recently published papers.  The addition is as follows:

  1. A paper published 2009 Dec 15 in “Neurology”.  The article is entitled, “Characteristic brain MRI appearance of erdheim-chester disease” and is without an abstract.
  2. A paper published 2009 Dec in the “Archives of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine.”  The article is entitled, “Adult orbital xanthogranulomatous disease: review of the literature” and includes an abstract.
  3. A paper published October 2009 in the “Best Practice & Research Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism Journal”.  The article is entitled, “Pituitary tumours: inflammatory and granulomatous expansive lesions of the pituitary” and includes an abstract.

Changes were also made to the website code as follows:

  1. The ‘Print’ capability on informational pages was enhanced to reduce the number of steps required to actually print.
  2. A date was added to the bottom of each informational page showing the last time the individual page was updated.
  3. A ‘Home’ selection was placed on informational pages to allow a return to the home page of the website.  This is especially helpful if a search engine links directly to an information page without the website structure being started.
  4. Additional tracking software was added to the website allowing improved tracking of how the website is utilized.
  5. Internal code changes to improve the placement on some search engine lists.

An update was made to the ‘ECD Global Alliance’ page announcing a Medical Advisory Board for the organization has been formed.  Plans are underway to list the individuals serving on the Board of Directors and Medical Advisory Board in early 2010, once appropriate permissions have been received.
